CUMMINS LEADS MEN'S TRACK TO FOURTH PLACE FINISH AT COAST GUARD

New London, Conn.-Rhode Island College senior Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI) notched three top-10 finishes to lead the menís outdoor track and field team to a fourth place finish at the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchormen finished fourth (11 teams) with a score of 82.0. Coast Guard won the meet with a score of 143.0.

 

Cummins finished first in the hammer (57.80m), third in the discus (40.84m) and seventh in the shot (12.55m).

 

 

 

 

Sophomore Matthew Charles (North Providence, RI) finished second in the 200m (23.22) and ninth in the 100m (11.61).

 

Freshman Newell Roberts (Providence, RI) finished second in the pole vault (4.25m). Sophomore Vincent Santos (Narragansett, RI) finished second in the 110m hurdles (16.22) and seventh in the 400m hurdles (1:00.05).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the American International College Invitational on Saturday, April 9.
