COOPER AND SHERAN LEAD RIC TO SECOND PLACE FINISH AT RICK KORZEC INVITATIONAL

Sutton, Mass.-Rhode Island College senior Jonathan Cooper (Berkley, MA) and freshman Tom Sheran (Marston Mills, MA) finished in a tie for fifth, both shooting a five-over 77 to lead the menís golf team at the 2016 Rich Korzec Invitational hosted by Worcester State and played at Blackstone National Golf Club on Wednesday afternoon.

 

The Anchormen finished second (10 teams) with a team score of 313. Salem State won the event with a score of 308.

 

Cooper (77; +5) and Sheran (77; +5) were the top two finishers for the Anchormen, with senior Pete Camerlengo (Pembroke, MA) finishing in a tie for 14th (79; +7).

Junior Steven Letterle (Cranston, RI) finished in a 21st-place tie (80; +8) with sophomore Austin Cilley (Westerly, RI) rounding out the RIC quintet, finishing 42nd (90; +18).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Johnson & Wales Wildcats Spring Invitational on April 16-17.
