BRUNELLE WINS THREE EVENTS AT WESLEYAN INVITATIONAL

Middletown, Conn.-Rhode Island College freshman Melanie Brunelle (Warwick, RI) earned three individual victories and one relay win to pace the women’s indoor track & field team at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

 

Brunelle finished first in the 60m hurdles (9.85), high jump (1.62m) and in the triple jump (11.03m), while also competing as a member of the first place distance medley relay (14:35.48).

Senior Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) finished first in the 200m (26.94) and second in the long jump (5.07m), while also competing as a member of the first place distance medley relay (14:35.48). Freshman Eleni Grammas (Cranston, RI) finished fourth in both the 60m (8.25) and the 400m (1:07.79).

 

Junior Michelle Sanchez (Warwick, RI) finished second in both the shot (9.38m) and the weight throw (11.82m). Junior Sandra Semedo (Providence, RI) finished first in the weight throw (11.90m).

 

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will compete at the Boston University Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 30.
