LEAZES WINS THREE EVENTS IN, 116-102, LOSS AT WESTERN NEW ENGLAND

Springfield, Mass.-Rhode Island College junior Abbie Leazes (Providence, RI) earned victories in three events as the women’s swimming team fell to Western New England, 116-102, on Friday night.

 

The Anchorwomen (0-3) and Golden Bears (2-2) each earned seven victories on the day.

 

Leazes finished first in the 100-yard freestyle (1:04.31), first in the 400-yard IM (5:19.98) and first in the 500-yard freestyle (6:00.23).

 

Sophomore Sydney Curran (North Kingstown, RI) finished first in the 100-yard IM (1:10.62), first in the 100-yard breast (1:16.04) and second in the 100-yard fly (1:09.93).

 

Freshman Kellie Gilluly (Bradford, RI) finished second in the 50-yard fly (32.16) and third in the 50-yard backstroke (35.44).

 

 

 Freshman Madison Lane

 

Freshman Madison Lane (Barrington, RI) finished first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:20.75) and second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:16.22).

 

Freshman Kimberly Olivos (Providence, RI) finished fourth in the 50-yard backstroke (45.44), fourth in the 50-yard freestyle (42.21) and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:36.70).

 

Freshman Courtney Payne (Waterford, CT) finished second in the 50-yard breast (38.34), second in the 50-yard freestyle (30.53) and second in the 100-yard IM (1:20.11). 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Plymouth State on Friday, Dec. 4 (7 p.m.).
