LANGELLA LEADS ANCHORWOMEN TO SECOND
PLACE FINISH AT WELLESLEY TRI

Wellesley, Mass.-The Rhode Island College women’s golf team opened the fall portion of the 2016-17 season with a second place finish at the Wellesley Tri-Match, played at the Nehoiden Golf Course on Saturday. 

 

The Anchorwomen posted a team score of 448, while host Wellesley took home first place with a score of 316 over the par 72 course that measures 5,960 yards.  Husson rounded out the teams at the event with a 483.

 

 

 Freshman Nicole Langella

 

Freshman Nicole Langella (Pembroke, MA) was the top finisher for RIC, posting a 92, which was good for an eighth place finish.  Freshman Kelsey Hiler (Pascoag, RI) was right behind her, carding a 99 which was good for ninth place. Freshman Jean Marie Arnold (Wakefield, RI) finished in 11th place for the Anchorwomen, while junior Lauryn Burd (Cranston, RI) had a 14th place finish for RIC.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will return to action on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24-25 when they travel to the Mount Holyoke Invitational.
