Kingston, R.I.-The Rhode Island College women’s indoor track & field team competed at the Coaches Tribute T&F Invitational, hosted by the University of Rhode Island at The Mackal Fieldhouse on Saturday.


The Anchorwomen finished 10th (14 teams) with a team score of 21.0. UMass Amherst won the meet with a score of  125.50.


RIC sophomore Melanie Brunelle (Warwick, RI) finished first in the triple jump (11.09m), sixth in the 500m (1:19.93) and 19th in the high jump (1.55m). Junior Destinee Barrette (Warwick, RI) tallied a third place finish in the weight throw (15.40m) and was 21st in the shot (9.76m).

 Sophomore Nicole Grammas (Cranston, RI) finished seventh in the 400m (1:00.62). Sophomore Eleni Grammas (Cranston, RI) finished 16th in the preliminary round of the 60m (8.10) and was 22nd in the 200m (27.15).


 Freshman Emma Landroche (Warwick, RI) finished 33rd in the preliminary round of the 60m (8.29) and was 13th in the 200m (26.50).


 Freshman Chevell Burgess (Providence, RI) notched a 25th place finish in the 200m (27.48) and was 26th in the preliminary round of the 60m hurdles (10.04).


 Freshman Cassidy Bissitt (Smithfield, RI) placed 23rd in the 800m (2:33.51). Sophomore Margaret McCaffrey (East Greenwich, RI) finished in 21st place in the 1,000m (3:13.72).


Freshman Oluwafunmibi Yusuff (Providence, RI) finished 13th in the weight throw (13.33m) and 18th in the shot (10.30m).


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Little East Championship, hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday, Feb. 11.
