Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College senior guard Alex Moore (West Newbury, MA) and freshman guard Jordyn Gauvin (Fall River, MA) were each recognized by the Little East Conference for their respective performances in women’s basketball during the 2016-17 season.


Moore was named First Team All-Little East Conference. She was a two-time Second Team All-LEC selection (2014-15, 2015-16) and was named to the league’s All-Rookie Team as a freshman (2013-14).

She played in 22 games, starting all of them. Moore averaged 15.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 2.4 apg and 2.0 spg on the season. She led the team and was second in the LEC in scoring, while her 45 steals on the year ranked her fifth among the conference leaders. She was also 12th in the LEC in assists (53) and her 5.8 rpg ranked 14th in the conference. Moore finished her career with 1,147 career points, which is 10th all-time in program history.


Gauvin was named to the league’s All-Rookie Team. She played in 26 games, starting all of them. She averaged 7.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.4 apg and 1.7 spg on the season. She ranked third in the LEC in minutes per game at 33.1, while her 45 steals had her tied with her teammate Moore for fifth in the conference.

Head Coach Glenn Senecal’s Anchorwomen finished the 2016-17 season with a 5-21 overall record and a 2-12 (eighth place) mark in the Little East Conference.
