MAHAN LEADS RIC AFTER DAY ONE AT
EMPIRE EIGHT WOMEN'S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

Ballston Spa, N.Y.-Rhode Island college freshman Megan Mahan (North Andover, MA) is currently in a tie for 14th place (95) to help lead the Rhode Island College women’s golf team to a seventh place finish (12 teams) after the first round of the 2017 Empire Eight Championship, hosted by St. John Fisher at the Ballston Spa Country Club on Saturday.

 

THE BASICS
Rhode Island College (Team Score: 426) sits in 7th place (12 teams). SUNY Cortland in in first place (Team Score: 344).

 

 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC sophomore Nicole Langella (Pembroke, MA) is in a tie for 20th place (98).

• Sophomore Kelsey Hinchliffe (Pascoag, RI) shot a 111 and is in a tie for 37th place for the Anchorwomen.

• Sophomore Jean Marie Arnold (Westerly, RI) carded a 122, which is good for a tie at 51st place.

 

BY THE NUMBERS
• There are 12 teams and 62 golfers competing at the par-72 course that measures 5,804 yards.

 

WHO'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will
take part in second round of the Empire Eight Championship on Sunday, Oct. 15 (1:00 p.m.).
