ANCHORWOMEN WRAP UP DAY ONE
AT NEIGA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Brewster, Mass.--Rhode Island college freshman Megan Mahan (North Andover, MA) and sophomore Nicole Langella (Pembroke, MA) are currently in a tie for 6th place (92) to help lead the Rhode Island College women’s golf team to a third place finish (five teams) after the first round of the 2017 New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Div. III Championship, held at the Captains Course (Starboard) on Sunday afternoon.

 

THE BASICS
Rhode Island College (Team Score: 398) sits in third place (five teams), while Suffolk is in first place (Team Score: 367).

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC sophomore Jean Marie Arnold (Westerly, RI) finished the round with a (102), which is good for a tie for 15th place.

• Sophomore Kelsey Hinchliffe (Pascoag, RI) shot a 112 and is in a tie for 18th place.

• Junior Meghan Rocheleau (Warwick, RI) rounded out the RIC golfers and finished the round with a 125, which is good for a tie for 21st place.

 

BY THE NUMBERS
• There are five teams and 24 golfers competing at the par-72 Starboard course that measures 5,833 yards.

 

WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will take part in second round of the NEIGA Championship on Monday, Oct. 23 (10 a.m.).
