Nashua, N.H.-The Rhode Island College women’s volleyball team split a tri-match with Rivier and Lasell at Rivier’s Muldoon Gym on Saturday. RIC defeated Lasell, 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-18), in the opener before falling to host Rivier, 3-0 (11-25, 20-25, 23-25), in the nightcap.

RIC vs. Lasell

•  In the win over Lasell, junior outside hitter Jillian Ward (Coventry, RI) led the way as she recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 19 digs for the Anchorwomen.


• Freshman outside hitter Jenaeya Evans (Marietta, GA) added nine kills, five digs and two service aces, while sophomore right side hitter Jacqueline Jutras (North Scituate, RI) tallied six kills, four digs and five assists in the victory.


• RIC senior setter Abigayl White (Coventry, RI) notched 27 assists and digs.


• Lasell was paced by junior outside hitter Olivia Addington (Orange, CA) with nine kills and 13 digs, while senior outside hitter Meredith Eagen (North Andover, MA) added nine kills and two digs in the setback.


• Senior setter Taylor Tiezzi (Meriden, CT) registered 19 assists and five digs for the Lasers.


RIC vs. Rivier

• In the loss to Rivier, junior outside hitter Jillian Ward (Coventry, RI) narrowly missed a double-double with a match-best 13 kills and nine digs for the Anchorwomen.


• Senior outside hitter Courtney Lambrese (Cranston, RI) notched six kills with three digs.


• Senior setter Abigayl White (Coventry, RI) recorded 17 assists and contributed five digs.


• Rivier was paced by sophomore outside hitter Taylor Dunster (Sutton, MA), who tallied a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs.


• Junior setter Hayley Macken (Clifton Park, NY) had 32 assists, five kills and three digs for the Raiders.



RIC vs. Lasell
• RIC had a .233 (34-13-90) hitting percentage, while Lasell hit .088 (32-23-102).


• The Anchorwomen had seven service aces and 47 digs in the victory while Lasell notched 40 digs in the setback.


RIC vs. Rivier

• RIC had a .052 (24-19-97) hitting percentage, while Rivier hit .179 (38-19-106).


• The Anchorwomen had 41 digs, with Rivier notching 49 digs and 11 service aces in the win.


In upcoming action,
Rhode Island College will travel to the University of Southern Maine for a tri-match with Colby on Saturday, Sept. 23 (Noon).
