ANCHORMEN FINISH 27TH
AT JAMES EARLEY INVITATIONAL

Westfield, Mass.- Sophomore Jephte Wagnac (Providence, RI) once again paced the Rhode Island College men’s cross country team with an 80th place finish (28:49.59) to lead the Anchormen to a 28th place (37 teams) finish at the 2017 James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park on Saturday.

 

THE BASICS
• The Anchormen finished with 745 points, while the Trinity took home the team title with 74 points on the afternoon.

• There were a total of 37 teams and 266 runners competing at the event

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Freshman Raffaelo Manzo (Slatersville, RI) recorded a 111th place finish (29:29.71) for the Anchormen.

• Junior Jeff Garson (Cumberland, RI) finished in 168th place finish (31:32.60), while freshman Stanley Guillaume (Boston, MA) was in 209th place (33:37.31).

• Junior Mohammed Chaghlil (Warwick, RI) was 223rd place with a time of (34:54.75).

• Freshman Dylan Brobisky (West Warwick, RI) rounded out the RIC runners in 240th place (37:27.06).

 

BY THE NUMBERS
•  RIC averaged a time of 31:40.80 over the 8K course.

 

WHO'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Western New England Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 14 (11:15 a.m.).
