AUSTIN CILLEY NAMED GNAC MENíS GOLF
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College senior Austin Cilley (Westerly, RI) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Menís Golf Player of the Week for his performance at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Div. III Championships on Oct. 22-23.

 

Cilley finished in second place with a 143 (75, 68) and earned All-New England honors to lead the Rhode Island College menís golf team to a second place finish with a score of 597 (303, 294). The event was held at the Captains Course in Brewster, Mass. The round of 294 (+6) by the Anchormen on the second day is the lowest round for the team in school history.

 

 

 

The round of 68 (-4) from Cilley in the second round is the lowest round for an individual in Rhode Island College menís golf history, while his 143 (-1) two-round total is also a new school record.

 

Cilley wraps up the 2017 fall campaign with a 73.9 scoring average. He finished in the top three in five events, which included a third place finish at the GNAC Championship on Oct. 14-15.
