MANZO LEADS MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
AT LITTLE EAST CHAMPIONSHIP

Keene, N.H.--Freshman Raffaelo Manzo (Slatersville, RI) notched a 29th place finish (28:20.3) to lead the Rhode Island College men’s cross country team to a seventh place finish (7 teams) at the 2017 Little East Conference Championship, hosted by Keene State on Saturday.

 

THE BASICS
• The Anchormen finished with 193 points, while Southern Maine took home the team title with 36 points on the afternoon.

• There were a total of seven teams and 58 runners competing at the event.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sophomore Jephte Wagnac (Providence, RI) registered a 35th place finish (29:35.5) for the Anchormen.

• Junior Jeff Garson (Cumberland, RI) finished in 41st place finish (30:32.1), while freshman Stanley Guillaume (Boston, MA) clocked a time of 31:29.3, which was good for 43rd place.

• Freshman Dylan Brobisky (West Warwick, RI) recorded an 45th place and finished with a time of (34:53.2). Junior Mohammed Chaghlil (Warwick, RI) rounded out the RIC runners, placing 46th place (35:36.1).

 

BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC averaged a time of 30:58.1 over the 8K course.

 

WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2017 NCAA Div. III N.E. Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Southern Maine on Saturday, Nov. 11.
