Kelly Lange Named
Head Womenís Tennis Coach
at Rhode Island College


Providence, RIóRhode Island College named Kelly Lange as its Head Womenís Tennis Coach. Lange takes over for Dick Ernst who retired last spring.


Lange played both tennis and softball during her undergraduate days at Rhode Island College from 1994-98. She received the Helen M. Murphy Award, signifying her as RICís top senior female athlete in 1998. Lange was a member of two Little East Conference womenís tennis championship teams in 1994 and 1995.

Lange competed at number one singles as a junior and senior. She posted a career singles record of 24-20 (.545) and a doubles record of 19-17 (.528) in four seasons of action. She is 13th all-time at RIC with 33.5 career points, and 15th with 24 career singles wins and 19 career doubles victories.


Lange earned a bachelorís degree in music education from RIC in 1998. She received a masterís degree in music education from RIC in 2002.


In addition to her coaching duties, Lange is a music teacher for the town of Smithfield, Rhode Islandís school department.


She is engaged and currently resides in Rehoboth, Massachusetts.
