Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College senior first baseball Tyler Walsh (Cumberland, RI) was named the Little East Player of the Week for his performance in a 4-1 week for the Anchormen.
Walsh played in five games, starting all of them. He batted .389 (7-for-18) with four runs scored, three doubles, one triple, three home runs and nine RBI. Walsh walked three times and was hit by three pitches. He owned a 1.167 slugging percentage and a .542 on-base percentage.
Walsh narrowly missed the cycle in the club’s, 16-14, win over Elms on April 4. He went 3-for-4 with a run scored, one double, a triple, a homer and four RBI. Walsh also went 2-for-5 with a run scored, a double, a home run and three RBI in an 8-4 win vs. Worcester State on April 2.
For the season, Walsh has played in 22 games, starting all of them. He is batting .304 (24-for-79) with 18 runs scored, eight doubles, three triples, four homers and 20 RBI. Walsh owns a .633 slugging percentage, a .418 on-base percentage and a .975 fielding percentage.
RIC is currently 15-7 overall and 3-2 in the Little East.
