Men’s Cross Country Places 17th At James Earley Invitational

Westfield, Mass.–Rhode Island College sophomore Raffaelo Manzo (Slatersville, RI) finished in 54th place (28:07.29) to lead the Anchormen to a 17th place (29 teams) finish at the 23rd Annual James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park on Saturday.

THE BASICS
• RIC finished in 17th place with 451.0 points, while Trinity took first place with 64.0 points.
• There were 29 teams and 209 runners competing at the event.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Junior Kody Sankey (Cumberland, RI) recorded a 94th place finish (29:13.46). Senior Jeff Garson (Cumberland, RI) finished in 104th place (29:35.13)

• Freshman Matthew Russom (Port Kent, NY) clocked in with a 108th place finish (29:48.59).

• Junior Mohammed Chaghlil (Warwick, RI) placed 141st (31:18.57), while junior Dylan Brobisky (West Warwick, RI) rounded out the runners for the Anchormen, finishing in 165th place (33:11.12). 

BY THE NUMBERS
• The Anchormen averaged (29:36.61) per runner over the 8K course (4.97 miles).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Western New England Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 13 (11:15 a.m.).
