Women’s Golf Takes 17th At The Mount Holyoke Invitational

South Hadley, Mass.--Sophomore Megan Mahan (North Andover, Mass.) carded a 183 (95, 88) for a tie for 58th place to lead the Rhode Island College women's golf team to a 17th place finish (17 teams) with a two day total of 863 (435, 428) the Mount Holyoke Invitational played at The Orchards Golf Club on Sep.t 22-23.

THE BASICS
• RIC finished in 17th place 863 (435, 428). Amherst captured first place with a 619 (313, 306) at the 17-team event.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Mahan finished tied for 58th in the field of 99 golfers.

• RIC senior Meghan Rocheleau (Warwick, RI) finished the tournament tied for 85th with a 217 (116, 101).

• Junior Kelsey Hinchcliffe (Pascoag, RI) shot a two-round total of 218 (101, 117), which was good for 87th place.


• Junior Jean Marie Arnold (Wakefield, RI) recorded a 245 (123, 122) and had a 93rd place finish, while freshman Natalie Jepson (Shoreham, NY) finished in 96th place with a 269 (131, 138).

WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Husson & Westfield State in a tri-match played at Valley Country Club in Warwick, R.I. on Sunday, Sept. 30 (1 p.m.).
