Women’s Golf Takes Eighth At Empire Eight Championship

Ballston Spa, N.Y.--Sophomore Megan Mahan (North Andover, MA) finished in a tie for 11th place with a 179 (82, 97) to lead the Rhode Island College women's golf team to an eighth place finish with a team score of 825 (408, 417) at the Empire Eight Championship played at the Ballston Spa Country Club over the weekend.

THE BASICS
The Anchorwomen compiled a team total of 825 (408, 417) over the two-round event for an eighth place finish in the 11 team field. SUNY Cortland took home the team title with a 667 (331, 336).

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Junior Kelsey Hinchcliffe (Pascoag, RI) finished in 36th place with a 211 (105, 106) for the Anchorwomen.

• Senior Meghan Rocheleau (Warwick, RI) notched a 38th place finish with a 214 (103, 111).

• Junior Jean Marie Arnold (Wakefield, RI) posted a 39th place finish after carding a 221 (118, 103).

• Freshman Natalie Jepson (Shoreham, NY) rounded out the RIC golfers, shooting a 242 (122, 120), which was good for a tie for 44th place.

• Rhode Island College will host Worcester State in a dual-match at Valley Country Club in Warwick, RI on Sunday, Oct. 14.
