Women’s Golf Currently In 2nd Place At NEIGA Championship

Brewster, Mass.--Sophomore Megan Mahan (North Andover, MA) shot a first round score of 91 and is in a tie for second overall as the Rhode Island College women's golf team sits in second place (three teams) with a first round score of 403 at the Third Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Div. III Championship on Sunday afternoon.

THE BASICS
• The tournament is being played at the par-72 Captain's Course-Port that measures 5,800 yards. Suffolk is in first place with a 363.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC junior Kelsey Hinchcliffe (Pascoag, RI) shot a 100 and is in 10th place among a field of 19 golfers.

• Senior Meghan Rocheleau (Warwick, RI) carded a 103, which was good for an 11th place finish, while junior Jean Marie Arnold (Wakefield, RI) registered a 109 and is tied for 16th.

• Freshman Natalie Jepson (Shoreham, NY) rounded out the RIC golfers, shooting a 123 on the day to finish in 19th plae.

• In upcoming action, Rhode Island College play in the second round of the 2018 NEIGA Championship on Monday, Oct. 22.
