Women’s Volleyball Blanks Anna Maria, 3-0

Paxton, Mass.--Senior outside hitter Jillian Ward (Coventry, RI) tallied eight kills and eight digs to lead the Rhode Island College women's volleyball team to a commanding, 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-19), victory at Anna Maria on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC freshman outside hitter Amelia Murphy (North Attleboro, MA) totaled eight kills, five digs and a blocks in the victory.

• Junior setter Jacqueline Jutras (Foster, RI) recorded 17 assists and six digs for the Anchorwomen.

• Sophomore libero Samantha Borges (Swansea, MA) notched a team-best 11 digs with three service aces in the victory.

• Anna Maria was paced by sophomore middle hitter Abygail Chapdelaine (East Longmeadow, MA) with five kills, while freshman setter Julia Ramos (Orange, MA) had nine assists, five digs and four service aces for the AMCats.

• Senior defensive specialist Victoria Falco (Marlborough, MA) picked up a match-high 14 digs in the setback for Anna Maria.

BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC registered a .198 (33-15-91) hitting percentage in the victory, while Anna Maria hit -.074 (13-20-94) in the contest.

• RIC had 52 digs and Anna Maria picked up 36 digs in the setback.

• The Anchorwomen also had nine service aces in the victory.
