Women's Cross Country Finishes Fifth at WNE Invitational

2018 RIC Women's Cross Country Team

Springfield, Mass.--Senior Margaret McCaffrey (East Greenwich, RI) led Rhode Island College with a ninth place finish as the Anchorwomen finished fifth (12 teams) at the Western New England Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS
• RIC finished in fifth place with 138.0 points, while Harvard finished in first place with 34.0 points on the day.

• There was a total of 12 teams and 122 runners competing at the event.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•   McCaffrey finished ninth overall (23:37).

•   Sophomore Shayna Cousineau (Cranston, RI) finished 12th overall (23:57).

• Senior Rebecca Meinertz (Smithfield, RI) finished in 25th place (24:33).

• Sophomore Bryana Mullin (Warwick, RI) registered a 52nd place finish (26:24).

• Freshman Madisen Martin (Marion, MA) finished 56th (26:34).

WHO'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host the 2018 Little East Championship at Bryant on Saturday, Oct. 27.
