Providence, R.I.—Freshman guard Shion Darby (Peekskill, NY) has been named the Rhode Island College Male Athlete of The Week for his performance in a 2-0 week for the men’s basketball team.
Darby poured in 20 points, had a team-high seven assists, while also compiling four rebounds and two steals, in the Anchormen’s, 84-65, victory over Eastern Nazarene in the regular season opener on Nov. 11.
Darby scored a career-high 36 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists and one block, in the 92-86 win over St. Joseph's (CT) on Nov. 16.
For the season, he has played in two games, starting both of them. He is averaging 28.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 5.0 apg and 2.5 spg.
