Providence, R.I.-Thirteen Rhode Island College student-athletes were named to the 2018-19 Little East Conference Winter All-Academic team as announced by the league office today.
Student-athletes earned recognition on the all-academic teams based on the following criteria: at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing and a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.3. The conference office honored student-athletes in the following sports: men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s indoor track and field and women’s swimming.
The following student-athletes were recognized:
Men’s Indoor Track & Field: Junior Joseph Palazzo (North Providence, RI) and senior Adam Stomberg (West Greenwich, RI).
Women’s Indoor Track & Field: Junior Jamie Dobson (Bradford, RI), sophomore Jasmine Gallo-Fusco (Warwick, RI), senior Eleni Grammas (Cranston, RI), senior Nicole Grammas (Cranston, RI), senior Margaret McCaffrey (East Greenwich, RI), sophomore Melissa Mejia (Providence, RI), junior Jacklyn Xavier (Cumberland, RI) and senior Oluwafunmibi Yusuff (Providence, RI).
Men’s Basketball: Junior Jonatan Batista (Providence, RI).
Women’s Basketball: Sophomore Brooke Young (West Warwick, RI).
Women’s Swimming: Senior Madison Lane (Barrington, RI).
