Box Score Willimantic, Conn.-Junior forward Justin Campbell (New Haven, CT) notched a double-double with a team-best 15 points and 11 rebounds as the Rhode Island College men's basketball team suffered a 61-49 setback at Eastern Connecticut in a Little East Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC freshman Adham Floyd (Worcester, MA) scored 11 points and added eight rebounds and four assists.
• Junior forward Grant Gillis (Jamestown, RI) added seven points and five boards in the loss for the Anchormen.
• Senior guard Tarchee Brown (Rockville, CT) paced Eastern Connecticut with a double-double, scoring a game-high 17 points with 13 rebounds.
• Senior guard Kendall Marquez (Willimantic, CT) added 14 points with three assists in the win for the Warriors.
• RIC took its first lead of the game when a layup by Gillis put the Anchormen up, 13-11, with 13:08 left in the first half.
• The Anchormen took their first double-digit advantage of the contest after a three-pointer from Floyd made the score 21-11 with 8:22 left in the half.
• RIC led by as many as 15 points several times in the stanza before taking a 32-23 lead heading into the locker room at halftime.
• Eastern Connecticut used a 10-0 run to start the second half, capped by a three-pointer from Marquez, to take a 33-32 advantage with 18:09 left in the contest. The Warriors held a 42-34 advantage midway through the second half.
• The Anchormen closed the gap to just two points when a three-pointer from senior guard Malcolm Smith (Old Orchard Beach, ME) made the score 47-45 with 5:55 remaining.
• That would be as close as RIC would get as Eastern Connecticut pulled away down the stretch en route to the 61-49 victory.

• RIC shot 38.9 percent (21-of-54) from the field, 26.3 percent (5-of-19) from the three-point line and 28.6 percent (2-of-7) from the free throw line.
• Eastern Connecticut shot 38.3 percent (23-of-60) from the field, 25.0 percent (6-of-24) from the three-point line and 81.8 percent (9-of-11) from the free throw line.
• RIC outrebounded Eastern Connecticut by a 37-34 margin.
