Franklin, Mass.--Freshman midfielder Giana Ritchie (Cumberland, RI) scored six goals and added an assist to lead the Rhode Island College women's lacrosse team to a commanding, 20-1, victory at Dean on Monday afternoon. It marked the first collegiate win for first-year RIC Head Coach Jessica Shiel.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Ten different players recorded at least one point for RIC, with six of the Anchorwomen tallying at least two goals in the win.

• RIC senior midfielder Jessica Trautman (Narragansett, RI) scored four goals and added an assist in the victory.

• Freshman midfielder Madison McKenna (Cumberland, RI), sophomore attacker Hannah Ambrosia (Warwick, RI), freshman midfielder Natalie Kulacz (Cumberland, RI) and senior defender Alasondra Apici (Providence, RI) each notched two goals for the Anchorwomen.

• RIC jumped out to an early 5-0 advantage, which included a pair of unassisted goals from Ritchie.

• Ambrosia scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal for the Anchorwomen just 2:20 into the contest.

• RIC held a 13-1 lead heading into halftime.

• The Anchorwomen continued to build on their lead throughout the second half before cruising to the commanding 19-point victory.

• Junior Julia Eaton (Cumberland, RI) made five saves in the win for RIC, while Na'Neq Holley notched eight stops in the setback for Dean.
