Boston, Mass.--Junior midfielder Giana Ritchie (Cumberland, RI) scored four goals as the Rhode Island College women's lacrosse team suffered a 17-5 setback at Emerson College on Monday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• A junior attacker Madison McKenna (Cumberland, RI) goal evened the score at two apiece 5:49 into the game.   

• The Lions then went on to score five straight goals before Ritchie netted her second goal of the day on a free position shot with 16:23 left in the first half.

• Emerson led, 10-3, at halftime.

• The Lions scored their first two goals of the second half before Ritchie scored her third goal of the day on an assist from freshman attacker Ashley Rewers (Oakdale, CT).

• Emerson responded with five straight goals, before Ritchie scored another goal with 4:17 left in the game.

 • Emerson senior midfielder Jenna Tomsky (Clinton, NJ) scored a game-high six goals and added three assists for nine points.

BY THE NUMBERS
• The Lions outshot the Anchorwomen, 33-10, on the day.

• RIC freshman goalkeeper Shannon Duckworth (Wakefield, RI) made 10 saves in the loss (0-1).

• RIC converted on two free position attempts while Emerson scored seven times on eight attempts.
