Providence, R.I.—Junior outside hitter
Amelia Murphy (North Attleboro, Mass.) registered a team-best eight kills and racked up 11 digs as the Rhode Island College women's volleyball team lost their home-opener, 3- 0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-17), vs. Salve Regina on Tuesday night at The Murray Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The visitors jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a decisive 10-point, 25-10, win in the opening set. The Seahawks edged the Anchorwomen by three, 25-22, in the middle frame, then took the third set, 25-17, to secure the match.

Wynter Conlon (East Walpole, Mass.) had 10 digs, while sophomore setter
Aubrey St. Onge (Tilton, N.H.) contributed a team-best 11 assists.
• Sophomore outside hitter
Angelly Polanco (Providence, R.I.) had three kills and a team-best four blocks.
• SRU senior outside hitter
Nicole Karabaich (Greenlawn, N.Y.) led the Seahawks with 12 kills, to go along with two aces and six digs. Classmate outside
hitter Madison Lee (Dover, Fla.) posted nine kills, two aces and team-best 11 digs.
BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC hit .088 (23-15-91), while SRU hit .225 (42-19-102).
• Salve Regina led in kills (42-23), assists (41-22), digs (52-36) and blocks (10-9).
