Nathan Lackman (Wernersville, Pa.) took home the championship at 165 lbs. as the Rhode Island College wrestling team finished fifth (14 teams) at the annual Doug Parker Invitational, hosted by Springfield on Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS
• RIC placed fifth (14 teams) with a team score of 86.5 points. Coast Guard finished first with a team score of 153.0 and had three champions and five runner-ups.

• The Anchormen had four wrestlers place at the meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Lackman swept the competition, going 4-0 with four technical fall wins. In the finals, he defeated Coast Guard's
Steven Rochard, 20-3.

Michael Alfonso (Garfield, N.J.) went 5-1 with three pins to finish in fifth place at 285 lbs.

Fred Luchs (Belford, N.J.) finished 4-1 on the day at 125 lbs., with each of his wins coming by pin, to place sixth. In his opening match, he pinned
Dan Mclaughlin of Western New England in just 41 seconds.

• Junior
Christopher McCarthy (Belford, N.J.) competed at 174 lbs. and had a 5-1 record to finish sixth. He picked up three pins and one technical fall victory.
