HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchormen carried a nine point, 31-23, lead after a thunderous dunk by Kourouma to end the half.
Â
• With 3:48 left in the second half, Regis freshman forward
Jamir Harvey (Robbins, Ill.) hit a layup to give the Pride a 54-52 lead, their first since early in the contest.
Â
• With two minutes remaining, both teams went back and forth. Kourouma had six-straight points for the Anchormen, two layups that kept the game tied and then two crucial free throws to put the hosts up by a pair with 55 seconds left.
Â
• Soon-there-after, freshman guard
Anthony Rivera (Staten Island, N.Y.) hit his free throws to put the Anchormen up by four, 60-56.
Â
• Regis sophomore forward
Russell Rau (Fitchburg, Mass.) responded with an and-one layup, but missed his free throw. RIC would remain perfect from the line to secure the victory and stop a four-game losing skid.
Â
• Over the final three minutes, Regis went 0-for-6 from the free throw line.
Â
• Rivera set another career-high with 26 points. He also had nine rebounds and three assists, while shooting a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe.
Â
• Regis senior forward
Zakaria Latifi (Holliston, Mass.) led the Pride with 19 points and nine rebounds. Harvey chipped in with 12 points off of the bench.
