Anchormen Fall at No. 8 Keene State

Keene, N.H.--Freshman guard Devon Jenkins (Durhan, N.C.) scored a career-high 15 points as the Rhode Island College men's basketball team fell at No. 8 Keene State, 98-60, in Little East action played at Spaulding Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• It took the No. 8-ranked Owls just over 10 minutes to build a 26-point, 37-11, lead over the Anchormen.
 
• The hosts led by 30, 57-29, at halftime.
 
• The Owls lead inflated to as much as 47 on two separate occasions as the Anchormen were unable to make a comeback.
 
• Jenkins scored 15 points in just his second career game. Sophomore guard Destine Haywood-Gomes (Wareham, Mass.) scored nine points in just eight minutes off the bench.
 
• KSU was led by sophomore guard Octavio Brito (Lincoln, R.I.) and his team-leading 26 points. Senior forward Jeff Hunter (Hudson, Mass.) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 20 rebounds to go along with four rejections.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East play at UMass Boston on Saturday, Dec. 17 (3 p.m.).
