• Emerson was able to net eight of its eventual 16 goals in the first quarter, with sophomore midfielder
Ainsley Basic (Palos Verdes, Calif.) finding the back of the net four times.

• The Lions would tack on four more goals in the second quarter, with Basic picking up two more scores. Emerson led, 12-0, at halftime.
