Sean Helfrich (Saunderstown, R.I.) belted a grand slam as the Rhode Island College baseball team used a 14-run seventh inning to best Anna Maria, 21-1, at Pontarelli Field on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC broke out in the third inning with five runs, three of which came off a homer by freshman designated hitter
Lucas Pierce (Chepachet, R.I.) to stake the Anchormen to a 6-1 lead.

• Two grand slams in the bottom of the seventh allowed the game to end early as Helfrich and freshman first baseman
Nate Pearce (North Attleboro, Mass.) each cleared the bases with homers to left field.

Joey Coro (North Providence, R.I.) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base.

• AMC senior shortstop
Kosta Drosidis (Holden, Mass.) led visitors with a 2-for-3 effort to go along with an RBI.

Connor Davey (Cheshire, Conn.) threw a complete game, striking out six and giving up just one run on four hits, to earn his second straight win (2-1).
