Auburndale, Fla.--Sophomore first baseman Cal Parrillo (Greenville, R.I.) went 4-for-6 with a home run and three RBI as the Rhode Island College baseball team defeated Marian (Wisc.), 11-7, at the RussMatt Invitational (Lake Myrtle Field #2) on Tuesday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC started the day by scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. Parrillo singled in a run and senior third baseman Jarrad Grossguth (Coventry, R.I.) smacked a solo homer in the frame. Sophomore second baseman Justin Wardwell (Westport, Mass.) capped the inning off with a two-run single.
 
• Parrillo homered in the third inning to extend RIC's lead to 7-0.
 
• With The Anchormen up 11-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh, Marian plated six runs, highlighted by a two-run single by sophomore infielder Logan Rademan (West Allis, Wis.).
 
• Parrillo went 4-for-6 with a homer, one double, one stolen base, three runs scored and three RBI.
 
• Grossguth had a home run and scored twice.
 
• RIC sophomore pitcher Andrew Sears (West Warwick, R.I.) earned the win (1-1) with a six-inning, 10-punchout performance.
 
• For Marian, Rademan went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base, while freshman pitcher Riley Richard (Kieler, Wis.) took the loss (0-1).
