HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE
• After surrendering a run on an error in the top of the first inning, the hosts plated six runs in the home half of the frame. Sophomore right fielder Sean Helfrich (Saunderstown, R.I.) dealt the big blow with a grand slam.

• The Anchormen scored at least one run in each of the ensuing five frames to end the game in seven via the 10-run rule.

• Sophomore lefty Andrew Sears (West Warwick, R.I.) allowed just one unearned run on four hits, while striking out nine, to pick up his fifth win (5-1).

• Senior leftfielder Joey Coro (North Providence, R.I.) went 2-for-3 with four runs scored, four RBI, one double, a homer and a walk.

• Castleton senior Zach Marlow (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) took the loss (1-3) for the Spartans.

GAME TWO
• Senior third baseman Jarrad Grossguth (Coventry, R.I.) got the Anchormen on the board with an RBI double in the first. Coro followed him with a towering blast into the left field trees, which staked the hosts to a 3-0 advantage.

• Helfrich would hit his second homer of the day in the second inning and Coro would hit his third in the third frame. RIC led, 7-0, after Coro's homer.

• With the game firmly in RIC's grasp in the bottom of the eighth inning, freshman first baseman Daniel Trzepacz (Mont Vernon, N.H.) hit a home run into deep right field, which pushed the Anchormen's lead to 11-1 and ending the game early via the 10-run rule.

• Junior pitcher Connor Davey (Cheshire, Conn.) notched his third win of the year (3-2) with a  six-inning, six-strikeout performance.

• Castleton junior pitcher Riley Orr (Queensbury, N.Y.) picked up the loss (1-5).
