Robert Stone (Deer Park, N.Y.) placed fifth as Rhode Island College finished ninth at the 2023 New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Futures Tournament, held at Western New England on Sunday afternoon.
THE BASICS
Rhode Island College finished ninth (14 teams) with a team score of 29.50. Johnson & Wales won the tournament with a team score of 185.50.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Stone went 4-1 with two pins, a major decision and a decision to finish fifth at 125 lbs.
• Sophomore 133 lbs.
Jacob Duval (New Bedford, Mass.) went 3-2 with a trio of decisions.
• Freshman 149 lbs.
Jensen Offerman (Huntington, N.Y.) went 3-2 with three decisions.
• Freshman 157 lbs.
Dillon Carter (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) went 2-2 with a pin.
• Freshman 165 lbs.
Scott Lallas (Farmington, N.H.) went 2-2 with a pin.
