Nathan Lackman Reaches Semifinals of NCAA Div. III National Championship

No. 1-Ranked Grappler at 165 lbs. Attains All-American Status for Second Straight Campaign

Roanoke, Va.—Rhode Island College senior Nathan Lackman (Wernersville, Pa.) went 2-0 during the first day of competition at the 2023 NCAA Div. III Wrestling National Championship to reach the semifinals of the 165 lbs. weight class bracket.
 
With the two wins, Lackman guarantees himself All-American status for the second consecutive season.
 
In his first bout of the tourney, the No. 1-seeded Lackman defeated North Central's Cole Cervantes with an 8-0 major decision. It marked his 100th career victory.
 
Lackman then defeated No. 8-seeded Luke Reicosky from John Carroll, 8-2.
 
In his next bout, he will face No. 5-seeded Nicolas Sacco from the College of New Jersey in the semifinals on Saturday, March 11.
 
Lackman is ranked No. 1 in the nation at 165 lbs. He is currently 37-3 on the season. Lackman was the NCAA Div. III National Champion at 157 lbs. as a junior in 2021-22.
