Joey Coro (North Providence, R.I.) drove in four runs as the Rhode Island College baseball team was defeated by Wheaton, 19-6, at Pontarelli Field on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Lyons scored first off of a double by senior shortstop
Cavan Brady (Sheffield, Mass.) in the bottom of the first inning. RIC responded with a two-run single by Coro in the bottom of the inning as the Anchormen led, 2-1, after one.
• The Anchormen would score twice again in the second inning, thanks to a two-out two-RBI base hit by junior right fielder
Sean Helfrich (Saunderstown, R.I.).
• RIC led, 4-1, after two innings before the Lyons took back the lead quickly. Wheaton would go on to score 14 unanswered runs and win convincingly.
• Coro and Helfrich combined to go 3-for-7 with all six RIC RBI.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East play with a doubleheader vs. Keene State at Franklin Pierce on Sunday, April 2 (11 a.m.).
