HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC scored in the top of the second inning when junior shortstop Izaiah Rivera (Pawtucket, R.I.) singled home the first run of the ballgame. The Beacons doubled in a run in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at one.

• A pitching duel ensured, as neither side scored until the eighth inning, when Parrillo was able to beat out a double play ball and plate junior center fielder Cameron Santerre (Bristol, R.I.) from third.

• Senior left fielder Joey Coro (North Providence, R.I.) gave RIC an insurance run a few batters later to give the Anchormen a 3-1 lead.

• Junior pitcher Terry Murray (Norfolk, Mass.) was brilliant, pitching eight complete innings of one-run ball. He handed the ball off to senior Colin Gauthier (Pawtucket, R.I.), who notched his seventh save of the year. Murray had six strikeouts and earned his seventh win (7-1).
