Cal Parrillo (Greenville, R.I.) knocked in the winning run as the Rhode Island College baseball team completed the sweep of UMass Boston, 3-1, in Little East action played at Monan Park on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC scored in the top of the second inning when junior shortstop
Izaiah Rivera (Pawtucket, R.I.) singled home the first run of the ballgame. The Beacons doubled in a run in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at one.

• A pitching duel ensured, as neither side scored until the eighth inning, when Parrillo was able to beat out a double play ball and plate junior center fielder

Joey Coro (North Providence, R.I.) gave RIC an insurance run a few batters later to give the Anchormen a 3-1 lead.

Terry Murray (Norfolk, Mass.) was brilliant, pitching eight complete innings of one-run ball. He handed the ball off to senior
Colin Gauthier (Pawtucket, R.I.), who notched his seventh save of the year. Murray had six strikeouts and earned his seventh win (7-1).
