Fred Luchs (Belford, N.J.) took fifth, as Rhode Island College finished action at the 2024 Pete Willson Invitational, hosted by Wheaton (Ill.) on Saturday afternoon.
THE BASICS
• The Anchormen finished 16
th (32 teams) with a team score of 47.5. No. 3 Wisconsin-Lacrosse took home the title with a 144.5 point total.
• Eight teams ranked in the Top-25 of NCAA Div. III wrestling were at the meet, including three in the Top-10.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Kelly went 4-2 at 184 lbs. with a pin, two technical fall wins and a major decision. He lost in the third place match to Wisconsin-Lacrosse's
Marcus Orlandoni, the No. 9-ranked wrestler at 184 lbs. in the nation.
• Luchs went 4-2 at 125 lbs. with a pin, a technical fall victory and a pair of decisions.

• "The Pete Willson Invitational, hosted by Wheaton College (Ill.) just outside of Chicago, provided a great experience for our student-athletes. We faced some of the nation's best competition in an individual-bracketed tournament, which is great preparation for our upcoming NCAA Northeast Regional."
