Hartford, Conn.--Rhode Island College won all three of its matches by sweeping a quad-match hosted by New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) rival Trinity on Sunday afternoon. The Anchormen took down the Bantams and Bridgewater State, while also securing a win over Div. II American International on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchormen notched pins by freshman 184 lbs. Anthony Fernandez (Nashua, N.H.), junior 285 lbs. Edison Guarcas (Providence, R.I.) and sophomore 157 lbs. Dillon Carter (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) in the 34-16 win over the Bantams.
 
• Junior 165 lbs. Christopher McCarthy (Middletown, N.J.) picked up a technical fall win, while junior 184 lbs. Matthew Kelly (Katonah, N.Y.) and classmate 125 lbs. Fred Luchs (Belford, N.J.) each secured major decisions.
 
• RIC completed the sweep of NEWA opponents with a decisive, 48-5, win vs. Bridgewater State. Guarcas, junior 149 lbs. Michael Pestana (North Bergen, N.J.) and sophomore 174 lbs. Scott Lallas (Farmington, N.H.) each won by fall. Luchs won by a technical fall.
 
• RIC notched a 33-17 win over AIC to finish the day with a 3-0 mark. Pestana, Kelly and Fernandez had pins in the win. Sophomore 125 lbs. Robert Stone (Deer Park, N.Y.) registered a technical fall victory.
