Providence, R.I.--Junior midfielder Hannah Marley (Tiverton, R.I.) netted two goals and picked up three ground balls as Rhode Island College lost vs. Fitchburg State, 19-3, at Alumni Field on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Falcons would score the first seven goals of the contest in the first quarter, until RIC freshman attacker Livia Sweeney (North Kingstown, R.I.) would put the Anchorwomen on the board with 5:21 remaining in the opening frame.
 
• Fitchburg would continue the offensive eruption in the second quarter, scoring five goals to take a 13-3 lead into halftime.
 
• The Falcons defense buckled down in the second half, as they held RIC scoreless for the entire final 30 minutes of the game to take the 19-3 victory.
 
• Senior attacker Emily Marino (Cheshire, Conn.) recorded four ground balls and three draw controls.
 
• FSU sophomore midfielder Jessica St. George (Dracut, Mass.) scored a game-high five goals.
 
• Freshman goalkeeper Fiona Baxter (East Greenwich, R.I.) stopped 13 shots in the losing effort (1-2).
 
• Fitchburg State freshman goalkeeper Elizabeth Smith (Plymouth, Mass.) entered late in the first quarter after freshman starter Caitlin Persson (Worcester, Mass.) was sent off with a yellow card to compete in her first career game. She made three saves and picked up the win (1-0).
