Franklin, Mass.--Freshman attacker 
Sophie DeFlitch (Hummelstown, Pa.) scored her first two career goals as Rhode Island College lost at Dean, 20-4, in collegiate women's lacrosse action played at Grant Field on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After a quiet first five minutes of the contest, DeFlitch scored her first collegiate goal with 9:11 remaining in the first quarter to give the Anchorwomen a 1-0 lead.
 
• The Bulldogs responded with authority, scoring six unanswered goals to help give the hosts a 7-2 lead after the first 15 minutes.
 
• Dean would continue to drive up the score, while the defense prevented any RIC scoring until the fourth quarter. Junior midfielders 
Hannah Marley (Tiverton, R.I.) and 
Nicolle Rosales (New Bedford, Mass.) each scored in the final stanza for the Anchorwomen.
 
• Dean juniors 
Natalie Peterson (Hudson, Mass.) and 
Haley Gaunt (Johnston, R.I.) led the way with six goals apiece.
 
• Bulldog sophomore goalkeeper 
Allie Stockwell (Burrillville, R.I.) tallied nine saves in the victory (1-0).
 
• RIC freshman goalkeeper 
Giana Franco (Salem, Conn.) registered nine saves in the loss (0-2).
 
• Marley pulled down a team-best four draw controls, while Franco and sophomore midfielder 
Olivia Miranda (Tiverton, R.I.) corralled three ground balls apiece.
