Providence, R.I.--Freshman goalkeeper 
Giana Franco (Salem, Conn.) recorded 10 saves for her first career win (1-4) as Rhode Island College defeated Purchase, 12-3, at Alumni Stadium on Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Junior defender 
Maggie Schwab (Saunderstown, R.I.) got the offense started for RIC just 3:12 into the opening frame as she scored her second goal of the season to break the ice.
 
• Freshman attacker 
Sophie DeFlitch (Hummelstown, Pa.) would score twice in the first quarter to help give the Anchorwomen a 3-1 lead after 15 minutes of play.
 
• RIC would outscore the Panthers, 6-0, in the second quarter, which included two goals by sophomore attacker 
Claire Greene (Storrs, Conn.), to extend the club's lead to 9-1 going into halftime.
 
• The Anchorwomen defense would hold strong in the second half, allowing just two additional goals from Purchase over the remainder of the game.
 
• Schwab finished with two goals and an assist for three points and accumulated a team-high six ground balls, five caused turnovers and three draw controls.
 
• DeFlitch and Greene each finished with three goals. Senior attacker 
Emily Marino (Cheshire, Conn.) finished with two goals and two assists for a game-high four points.
 
• PC junior goalkeeper 
Amani Jamal (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) recorded 24 saves in the loss (1-7).
