Providence, R.I.—Junior Erica Botelho (Greenville, R.I.) paired with fifth-year Lauren Macera (Cranston, R.I.) for a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles, then won in straight sets (6-0, 6-1) at No. 2 singles, as Rhode Island College smacked Curry, 7-0, at the RIC Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Curry was only able to field five competitors and took a pair of forfeits on the day.
 
• After winning two in doubles and holding a 2-0 advantage, freshman Haylie Peacock (West Gardiner, Maine) registered a straight set (6-1, 6-0) victory at No. 4 singles.
 
• Junior Li hsiu Hou (Kingston, R.I.) secured the win for the club with a straight set (6-1, 6-1) win at No. 5 singles in her first action of the season.
 
• Peacock and classmate Emilia Houwers (Whitewater, Wisc.) paired for a 6-1 win at second doubles.
