HOW IT HAPPENED

• Junior defender Alijah Nunes (Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago) and Sanches had back-to-back chances in the 51st minute, but both shots were again turned away as Salve Regina's defense stood strong.

• Sanches then had a penalty kick chance on a foul in the box during the 77th minute, but it was denied by SRU goalkeeper Adonis Santiago (Oakdale, Conn.).

• Just about five minutes later, the Seahawks took matters into their own hands and scored the only mark of the game.

• Junior goalkeeper Elhadji Ndoye (Cranston, R.I.) made two saves in the loss (0-3-2).
