Providence, R.I.--Senior Morgan McCann (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke (11:20.20) as the Rhode Island College women's swimming team opened the 2025-26 season with a 188-72 setback vs. Westfield State in the Sandra E. Surdut Swimming Pool at RIC's Recreation Center on Saturday.

• McCann also placed second in the 200-yard medley relay (2:15.52), 50-yard breaststroke (36.52) and the 100-yard IM (1:13.29).
 
• Sophomore Meghan McCann (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished second in both the 200-yard medley relay (2:15.52) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:59.59), third in the 50-yard freestyle (28.64) and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:27.44).
 
• Freshman Victoria Badger (Cranston, R.I.) finished second in both the 200-yard medley relay (2:15.52) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:59.59), third in the 50-yard backstroke (36.45) and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:08.15).
