Julian Orellana (Providence, R.I.) scored and notched an assist as Rhode Island College came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw vs. Emmanuel in the 2025 season opener played at Alumni Stadium on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC immediately produced a scoring chance as freshman forward
Moise Augustin (Providence, R.I.) chipped a shot over the bar from point blank within the first 45 seconds.

• However, it was the visitors who struck first as the Saints found the back of the net seven minutes into the game.

• After confusion from the RIC defense in the 18-yard box, the ball fell to the Saints who made the hosts pay as they increased their lead to a pair of goals in the 20
th minute.

• RIC outshot Emmanuel, 10-4, in the first half, but came up empty on the scoreboard going into the second frame.

• Just under 10 minutes into the half, Orellana broke in from the right side and found junior midfielder
Ian Mackin (Richmond, R.I.) who secured his first goal as an Anchorman.

• After getting his first collegiate point from an assist on the Mackin tally, Orellana knotted the game up with a brilliant individual effort at the 67
th minute mark.

• RIC allowed just one shot in the second half and put up ten of its own to finish with a 20-5 advantage.
