McCann and Rogers Lead Anchorwomen in, 157-99, Loss at Western New England

Springfield, Mass.—Senior Morgan McCann (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke and freshman Katelyn Rogers (Woonsocket, R.I.) took home the individual title in the 200-yard butterfly as Rhode Island College fell at Western New England, 157-99, on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• McCann finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:19.44), second in the 200-yard medley relay (2:14.44), 800-yard freestyle relay (9:46.57) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:57.51).
 
• Rogers finished first in the 200-yard butterfly (3:15.86), second in both the 1,000-yard freestyle (13:40.43) and the 800-yard freestyle relay (9:46.57) and third in both the 500-yard freestyle (6:55.66).
 
• Sophomore Meghan McCann (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished second in both the 200-yard medley relay (2:14.44) and the 800-yard freestyle relay (9:46.57) and third in both the 400-yard IM (6:08.51) and the the 200-yard freestyle (2:28.03).
 
• Sophomore Marina Pereira (Cumberland, R.I.) placed second in both the 200-yard medley relay (2:14.44) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:21.52), third in the 800-yard freestyle relay (10:59.23) and sixth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:11.63).
 
• Sophomore Taryn Reed (Pascoag, R.I.) finished second in the 800-yard freestyle relay (9:46.57), third in both the 1,000-yard freestyle (13:45.33) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:50.82) and fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (7:01.41).
 
• Freshman Victoria Badger (Cranston, R.I.) placed second in the 200-yard medley relay (2:14.44), third in the 800-yard freestyle relay (10:59.23), fourth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:55.98) and fifth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:21.71).
 
• Junior Joanmarie Joly (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished third in the 200-yard medley relay (2:28.04), 50-yard freestyle (30.57) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:27.12) and fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:09.89).
 
• Junior Ivy Par (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished third in the 200-yard medley relay (2:28.04), fourth in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:43.50) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:32.61) and seventh in the 100-yard freestyle (1:12.28).
 
• Junior Mabel Huynh (North Providence, R.I.) finished third in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:33.10) and the 200-yard breaststroke (3:22.10), fourth in the 400-yard IM (6:25.25) and fifth in the 200-yard medley relay (2:44.67).
 
• Junior Kate Clayman (Smithfield, R.I.) finished third in both the 200-yard medley relay (2:28.04) and the 800-yard freestyle relay (10:59.23), fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke (3:32.53) and fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:35.47).
 
• Junior Elizabeth Shepard (Smithfield, R.I.) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (3:39.71), fourth in the 800-yard freestyle relay (12:19.00) and fifth in both the 200-yard medley relay (2:44.67) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:39.22).
 
• Freshman Alana Sousa (Berkley, Mass.) finished third in both the 200-yard medley relay (2:28.04) and the 800-yard freestyle relay (10:59.23), fourth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:19.86) and fifth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:58.54).
 
• Senior Olivia Landry (Lincoln, R.I.) finished third in the 200-yard butterfly (3:52.15), fourth in the 800-yard freestyle relay (12:19.00) and fifth in  both the 200-yard medley relay (2:44.67) and the 200-yard freestyle (3:20.32).
 
• Junior Abigail Steinhilber (Warwick, R.I.) finished fourth in the 800-yard freestyle relay (12:19.00), fifth in the 200-yard medley relay (2:44.67) and sixth in both the 100-yard backstroke (1:24.16) and the 50-yard freestyle (36.11).
 
• Freshman Madison Ventura (Warwick, R.I.) placed fourth in the 800-yard freestyle relay (12:19.00), fifth in the 1,000-yard freestyle (15:50.91) and sixth in the 500-yard freestyle (7:50.62).
 
• Sophomore Lydia Paul (Lincoln, R.I.) finished fifth in the 50-yard freestyle (35.80)

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the University of New England on Saturday, Jan. 17 (noon).
