HOW IT HAPPENED
• Both teams opened the first frame with a run, but it was the Anchorwomen who posted seven runs in the third inning as sophomore first baseman
Jillian Guilfoyle (Derby, Conn.) started the scoring tear with a two-run single.

• RIC scored on a wild pitch in the fourth to make it, 9-1, but then Skidmore found life and scored eight runs over the next two stanzas to tie it up, 9-9.

• The Anchorwomen responded with three runs in the bottom half of the sixth as sophomore shortstop
Joey Meyer (South Milwaukee, Wis.) scored on a passed ball and junior catcher
Brianna Bailey (Windsor, Conn.) brought in two to score with a single.

Gabby Cunha (Cranston, R.I.) earned the win (1-0) in relief, striking out a pair of batters in the final inning to give RIC its third consecutive win.
