Providence, R.I.--Junior midfielder Lily Nees (Rehoboth, Mass.) scored three goals, picked up five ground balls and corralled six draw controls as Rhode Island College fell vs. Keene State, 15-5, at Alumni Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Nees slotted in the first goal two minutes into the game, but the Owls closed out the first period with a pair of tallies to lead, 2-1, heading into the second.
 
• Keene State scored 30 seconds into the second frame, only to be met with goals from junior attacker Livia Sweeney (North Kingstown, R.I.) and sophomore midfielder Brie Macaruso (Ashaway, R.I.) to tie the game, 3-3.
 
• RIC junior goalkeeper Giana Franco (Salem, Conn.) was the story in the first half, turning aside nine Owl offerings to keep it a one-goal deficit, 4-3, despite being outshot, 19-6.
 
• Nees brought the Anchorwomen to within one in the third, 6-5, but the tide turned in favor of KSC as the Owls scored the next nine goals and allowed just one shot in the fourth quarter to secure their first win of the year.
 
• Franco posted 13 saves and 11 ground balls in the loss (0-2).
